Born in Frankenthal, in the Palatinate, on November 5, 1885, Ludwig Marum studied law at Heidelberg and Munich and practiced in Karlsruhe. A member of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD), he represented his party in the Landtag of Baden from 1914 to 1928. From 1918 to 1919 he served as Minister of Justice. Marum was a member of the Reichstag from 1928 until 1933. On May 16, 1933 he was arrested and deported to Kislau concentration camp, where he was murdered on March 29, 1934. ...
